Helping a Friend in NEEF Toyota Contributes $150,000 to Support Friends Groups

Washington, DC (August 6, 2014) – Thirty five nonprofit organizations nationwide will share in more than $150,000 in capacity building grants to help support public lands. The Public Lands Program of the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) provided the grants thanks to a partnership with Toyota.

“It is often difficult to raise funds for strategic planning, communications and technology upgrades, but these activities are vital to the growth and engagement of Friends Groups, ” said Diane Wood, president of the National Environmental Education Foundation.

TFS: Toyota to Establish New North American Headquarters

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) today announced that the company will relocate its North American headquarters to North Dallas (Plano), Texas. The move—which is not expected to begin until 2017—is designed to better serve customers and position Toyota for sustainable, long-term growth.

TFS plans to relocate its headquarters to Plano in order to join Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS); Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA); and Toyota Motor North America (TMA) as the Toyota affiliates unify their respective headquarters there to create a single, state-of-the-art Toyota headquarters and pursue the One Toyota vision in North America.

Toyota Develops New Series of Gas Engines That Will Boost Fuel Efficiency At Least 10%

Toyota City, Japan – Toyota will soon introduce vehicles globally with a series of newly-developed, highly efficient gasoline engines that achieve outstanding thermal efficiency1 and fuel efficiency improvements of at least 10%.

The new engines leverage combustion and loss-reduction technologies Toyota has refined in its dedicated hybrid engines. Two engines will form the base of the new series. The first is a 1.3-liter gasoline engine using the Atkinson cycle normally used in dedicated hybrid vehicles that achieves a maximum thermal efficiency of 38 percent — top-level among mass-produced engines. The second is a 1.0-liter gasoline engine, jointly developed with Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd., that has achieved maximum thermal efficiency of 37 percent.

Toyota and VMI Announce 2nd Annual Star Spangled Salute Contest for Disabled U.S. Veterans

 Toyota Motor Sales USA and Vantage Mobility International (VMI) announced today the 2nd Annual Operation Independence Star Spangled Salute contest.  The online contest gives America’s disabled military veterans the chance to win a new Toyota Sienna with VMI’s Access 360 In-floor Ramp Conversion system.  The online contest will run Wed., April 2 to Sun., Nov. 9, 2014, and is open to all disabled U.S. veterans. The winner will be randomly drawn on Sun., Nov. 9 and announced on Veterans Day Tues., Nov. 11, 2014.  The Star Spangled Salute contest is a part of VMI’s Operation Independence program.

Toyota Fuel Cell Concept Sedan Debuts at 2014 Consumer Electronics Show
